TICKY-TICKY'S QUEST

A SAGA OF THE YOUNG QUARTER SPIDER-BOY

LESSON PLAN or TASK

Note: Here is a link to my website's page on this book http://anansistories.com/Ticky_Ticky.html

For starters, and about Ticky-Ticky, so that students can answer these questions:

1. Who is Ticky-Ticky’s father, and what is he?

2. Why did Ticky-Ticky go on a QUEST?

3. Where did his first leg of his journey take him?

4. What is the Island of Coabey, and who are its main three characters there?

5. What are Matanino and Guanin?

6. Anacaona played a pivotal role in the earliest history of the "Conquest of the Americas" after 1492 during the first contact with Cristopher Columbus on the island of Hispaniona (Ayti Bohio & Kiskeya) , Research Anacaona, the Queen of (Jaragua (Ha-ra-gua) on the Internet https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anacaona.  In your own opinion, what tragic role did she play in the Spanish Conquest of the Americas?

(7). Can you name any  foods which the Taino introduced to the Eastern Hemisphere?

Hints:

a. Its neither an apple nor a pine cone. It is the symbol of Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia,

where sea captains brought the exotic fruit from the Caribbean, and rented them out at food banquets.

b. We get tapioca from it. Plus it's named for the Taino god of the sea. Jamaicans make bammy bread from it.

c. It comes on a cob, and we make a meal from it.

d. It is a sweet root from which a pie is made, and the Tainos called it "batata".

Also write a paragraph on: Where would you go in a time traveling Bat-canoa?

P.S. There are two more adventures in the works, Part 2, and 3 which take Ticky-Ticky to Turtle Island (North America) to meet his Native American spider-relatives. Part 3 takes him to Ancient Mexico under Guyaba's direction and Opiyel's guidance via the loaned Coabey time-traveling Bat-canoe.

Do these names confuse you? Then keep up with Ticky-Ticky's QUEST and his encounters with revealed ancient arachnid relative-goddesses, still faithfully revered in the Americas!!!
